Resonating Nexus

Willow in pond and boulders

Dimensions Variable

2017

Resonating Nexus is an environmental art installation at Cottonwood Pond that flows into the Jordan River in West Valley City, UT. It was created in collaboration with the Jordan River Commission, Eric McCulley from River Restoration, students from Roots High School, and recently arrived refugees, hired through the International Rescue Committee. Resonating Nexus is a community-based artwork made of willow sculptures that over time will grow and create new habitat for wildlife. Natural seating, in the form of boulders, has also been installed around the pond to provide a place for reflection for citizens of the area.
